Our Programs

The Way of the Dragon Martial Arts offers programs for all ages.   It doesn’t matter how old you areas we offer a wide range of family oriented classes arraigned by age level and proficiency to make learning more enjoyable and comfortable.

Juniors age 7-12 year olds:

Martial arts are not like team sports because the emphasis is on developing the individual’s self-esteem not the team’s winning record. Your child will not be “sitting on the bench” or “standing on the sidelines” watching the more mature or athletic child getting the playing time, thus the opportunity to develop their skills. Each child gets the opportunity to learn, practice, participate and hone their skills at their own pace, physical ability, and mental level of development.

Emphasis is placed on preparing these students for the future with Martial Arts exercises and drills that foster confidence, self-esteem, self-control, self defense, conflict resolution, goal setting, teamwork, and a solid respect for themselves and others.

Trains each student’s mind, body and spirit.

Teaches warming up, stretching, developing strength , power, and coordination. The Way of the Dragon’s structured curriculum utilizes a “Building Block” approach where the student learns standing basics, then progresses to lateral movement, multi-directional movement subsequently advancing to more complex techniques requiring more intricate body movements.

Proper breathing (for stamina and remaining calm) and meditation are incorporated into the study of the Asian Martial Arts and are taught at The Way of the Dragon as part of an integrated program geared towards producing a more powerful body, a more alert mind and a confident yet humble spirit which will be carried over to one’s dailey life at home, work or at play.
